Friends and Neighbors,
It has been an honor to serve you in the Minnesota House of Representatives over the last four years. We have been faced with many challenges, but I’m very proud of our accomplishments. Here are some of the highlights from the last biennium:
Turned a $6.1 billion budget deficit into a $1.3 billion budget surplus without raising taxes
Voted to end the statewide business property tax
Increased funding to K12 education by $630 million in the current biennium, voted to pay back $700 million of the education shift
Supported Voter ID, which will require voters to show a Photo ID when they vote, preserving and enhancing election integrity (On 2012 ballot)
Eliminated welfare fraud to ensure people who need assistance are receiving it and taxpayer dollars for public assistance are being used as intended
Voted for property tax relief for small businesses and homeowners
While our record speaks for itself, there is much more work to be done. We need to make our state a leader in private sector job creation and economic growth. We must overhaul our tax structure and eliminate over-burdensome regulations on our job creators. We can attract new businesses and jobs here to Minnesota, and create an environment where our existing businesses can thrive and expand.
I look forward to the opportunity to serve you again and I humbly ask for your vote on November 6th. I thank you for taking the time to visit my website, please contact me if you have any questions.
